Sophisticated Drinking

With the binge drinking culture and the inflated bar prices some residents are now ditching their local pubs and clubs preferring to invite family and friends round to their homes for an evening of good food and wine. Wine sales in the UK have risen steadily over the last few years meaning residents are giving up their “few beers” after work and instead uncorking a cheeky little red number to help unwind the stresses of the day.

Getting Your Stadium Ready

Well lads ‘n lassies it’s nearly here, one month of brilliant football, and, hopefully bring the trophy back home – well, we can dream, can’t we? With England kicking off on the 12th of June many of us are getting ready for the big match day. With the seating organised, food and beer ordered, friends invited, new 42inch HD television with surround sound ordered and on its way.

From Wellies to Flip Flops

Haven’t the last few days been great, glorious sunshine, warm temperatures and no children moping around the house shouting “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do”. Yep, the paddling pool certainly comes in handy on those warm summer days. Just cover them with sun protection and let them play out (under proper supervision, of-course). This now gives you the perfect opportunity to catch up on your Spring cleaning.

Outdoor Living

It’s finally happened, the Sun has decided to ‘pop out’ from it’s winter retreat and shine favourably on the British Isles, and according to the weatherman it’s back with a vengeance with temperatures set to sore to an impressive 25°.

This is great news for the sun worshippers, who, will already be looking out the sun factor protection, dusting down their sun loungers and planning a day of relaxation in anticipation of those majestic rays beating down on us all.

Lazy Summer Dayz

Being British, we all dream of those long lazy summer days, when the sun radiates down its warmth and we lay in our gardens, letting those balmy rays help us forget that cruel, harsh winter, in which we all suffered. Reality is, however, that British summertime often means grey clouds, breezy winds and the occasional drop of rain. British summertime really should rhyme with dissapointing if we were to judge it on weather alone.

We often talk about living space being tight here on the UKCF Blog and therefore with it being an issue when it comes to purchasing those important piece’s of furniture for your new home we thought we would talk about it some more.

What if, say, you have enough space to place any piece of furniture that you want! Which piece would you choose?

Many older properties such as Georgian town houses have large dining, reception and living rooms all with this beautiful high ceilings. These types of properties have to be furnished the right way.

Black is Back

When it comes to decorating our new homes many of us find that the traditional ‘large pieces of furniture’ that have been left to us by loved ones can be some what overpowering, and tend to intrude into our living space.
