Top 10 Favourite Easy Chair Books

I had a discussion the other day regarding my all-time favourite books. Now we all have heard of coffee table books meant either to impress or to strike up conversation (this is a great ice breaker if your inviting people over whom your not too familiar with). So, I thought I’d post my favourite Easy Chair books, for those of us that want to relax after a hard day’s work and can’t be bothered by being zombified by the TV schedule. My choice might suprise a few who read this blog on a regular basis, then again, perhaps not.

Most Expensive Furniture

We all love to make our homes look great, how much are we prepared to spend on that piece of modern designer furniture? We have had a browse through the internet and found the most expensive pieces that may look great in any home (maybe?)

The worlds most expensive piece is this Badminton Cabinet, sold for £19 million, commissioned in 1726 by Hendry Somerset, it cost him originally £500 and 94 pounds in export duties. It took 30 craft men 6 years to finish.

New Design, New Look

The Apprentice 2009

Earlier this week, BBC aired its new series of The Apprentice. Now, if your like me, you’ll have given this program a wide berth over the years (I’m more a Dragon’s Den kinda guy). However, this year, I have been challenged to give the show a chance to breath and I’m bound to be hooked come the end, we’ll see… After missing Wednesday’s night screening I watched the program again via the BBC’s iPlayer Online (www.bbc.co.uk/theapprentice/).

From cards to tree decorations to christmassy ornaments, purple is the colour to be seen in this Christmas time. But why purple at Christmas time. We’ll Purple is an extremely emotional colour that represents a number of various things to many people. It is highly associated with Royalty and thus the correlation with the King of Kings being born on Christmas Day. It also very heavily associated with advertising rich luxorious products, which during the Christmas period is a well known excessive time.

Playstation Gets Contemporary Furniture

The new Playstation development called Playstation Home was available for download today, 11th December 2008. The idea behind Playstation Home is to allow gamers (users) the ability to create a digital avatar of themselves that can interact with other users avatars. Each avatar will also have their own living quarters in cyberspace. And this is where it gets interesting. To achieve real life effects, each avatars living space or apartment has been designed by contemporary furniture designers Ligne Roset providing virtual furniture.

Bond Gets Maxalto Makeover

The new James Bond film, “A Quantum of Solace”, has a makeover in stunning designer furniture with many of the Hotel scenes showing furniture from the Maxalto collection, produced by Italian designers, B&B Italia. The featured furniture was the Talamo Bed, which was handy for our man Bond, as we all know he likes to lay down in luxury, every now and again.
