Due to our hectic lifestyles we all need our own little retreat, somewhere we can relax and forget about the stresses of the day. What is it about a shiny piece of glass that can do so much for a room, whether it be straight, circular, bevelled or even etched, many homes in Britain would look bare without it. I am not talking about our windows, I am referring to mirrors.

Mirrors play an essential part in any home – women use them too dry and style their hair, many a man would be a lot more hairier if it were’nt not for his trusted shaving mirror and we all use them to see just how good we look (or not) in our outfit for the day.

It has to be said that when people start decorationg their homes, they normally concentrate on doing the living room and kitchen first, followed by the bedrooms then last of all comes the humble bathroom. Tiles, wood panelling, slate or wooden floors and a host of halogen lighting can all add the desired effect to this traditionally small room.

People love to collect things of interest whether it’s glass ornaments from a country they have visited or shiny stones stones found on foreign shores. The problem is that when we get home these memorabilia normally sit on top of the wardrobe or in the suitcase till the following year. Displaying your ‘artefacts’ can be difficult if you have nowhere to display them.
