Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Due to our hectic lifestyles we all need our own little retreat, somewhere we can relax and forget about the stresses of the day. For some, this may be a bathroom filled with scented candles and a frothy bath to soak in – not everyone’s choice especially true if you don’t have an en suite and you share the bathroom with the family.

Living or dining rooms offer too many distractions to be proper retreats, disruptions from other family members, neighbours, televisions and phone calls can all take there toll and send the stress levels soaring once more.

Bathroom Delights

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

When it comes to refurnishing our homes it’s best to have a budget and stick to it. Allocate money to each room starting in the largest rooms such as the kitchen, living room and the dining room and finally ending up in the smallest room which is normally the bathroom.

However like everything else in life – it usually ends up costing us more money than originally budgeted for – we normally find modern furniture products which can be more expensive – but look so much better. This can its toll on the rooms which are still waiting to be refurnished and therefore the bathroom, which is normally at the end of your list, is the room which suffers the most from lack of funds.

If you are the type of person who slightly over spends your budget on each room and begins to worry about the dwindling amount you have left to spend on your bathroom then don’t worry as one simple piece of furniture can totally transform your room. A new Wooden Oak Laundry Bin will not only keep your dirty washing off the floor but it also has the ability to give the smallest room in your home a new feel as well as a great look.

Retro CD Storage

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

When it comes to protecting your ‘Wham’ or your ‘Greatest Hits of the 60s’ CD collections, most will just place them under their beds or on top of the bedroom unit. That’s fine and acceptable till one day you are feeling nostalgic and wish to listen to them, then the hunt begins, this can end up being a very frustrating time. Flinging old toys and forgotten dusty clothes out of your way as you hunt to find that special disc that brought back so many good memories.

It’s either find it or tramping down town to buy it again or download it from iTunes (is it just me, or is having a music collection stored on a hard drive the most depressing way ever to collect music, where’s the appeal?)

Placing your precious CD collection in a safe place is not just essential it’s a must! As music can hold so many good memories like, you first kiss, your first wedding dance and the music that was playing just after the birth of your kids.

Give your CD’s the respect they deserve and place them in an Oak Multi-drawer/CD Storage unit, this piece will not only look great in any room but it will ensure that all your precious CDs are kept in excellent order.

It’s finally happened, the Sun has decided to ‘pop out’ from it’s winter retreat and shine favourably on the British Isles, and according to the weatherman it’s back with a vengeance with temperatures set to sore to an impressive 25°.

This is great news for the sun worshippers, who, will already be looking out the sun factor protection, dusting down their sun loungers and planning a day of relaxation in anticipation of those majestic rays beating down on us all.

Black is Back

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

When it comes to decorating our new homes many of us find that the traditional ‘large pieces of furniture’ that have been left to us by loved ones can be some what overpowering, and tend to intrude into our living space. This can be very disappointing and distressing to many people as they may feel obliged to display them in our homes.

Reflective Glass

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

What is it about a shiny piece of glass that can do so much for a room, whether it be straight, circular, bevelled or even etched, many homes in Britain would look bare without it. I am not talking about our windows, I am referring to mirrors.

Mirrors play an essential part in any home – women use them too dry and style their hair, many a man would be a lot more hairier if it were’nt not for his trusted shaving mirror and we all use them to see just how good we look (or not) in our outfit for the day.

Suitable Bathroom Furniture

Friday, April 16th, 2010

It has to be said that when people start decorationg their homes, they normally concentrate on doing the living room and kitchen first, followed by the bedrooms then last of all comes the humble bathroom. Tiles, wood panelling, slate or wooden floors and a host of halogen lighting can all add the desired effect to this traditionally small room.

Vertical Display Cabinets

Friday, April 9th, 2010

People love to collect things of interest whether it’s glass ornaments from a country they have visited or shiny stones stones found on foreign shores. The problem is that when we get home these memorabilia normally sit on top of the wardrobe or in the suitcase till the following year. Displaying your ‘artefacts’ can be difficult if you have nowhere to display them.
