High Life Good Living

Over the last few years there has been a cultural shift of ditching the usual Saturday night down the local bar for a few beers and a couple of packets of crisps instead many of us now preferring the sophisticated company of family and friends and enjoying finer foods within our own homes.

Let’s face it, when we’re sitting at home, there is no pushing and barging to get to the bar, no paying over the top prices and no fighting (well most of the time), and one of the biggest changes is that we as a nation are ditching the crisps, scampi fries and nuts and are now looking for gourmet food, cream cheese and crackers and smoke salmon with cream fresh and herbs on quality crackers.

The change is not only happening to the food we eat but also to people’s preferred drinking habits. Where a few years ago many would be drinking lager/beer they are now turning towards red and white wines.

A steady increase in the amount of wine that is consumed in Britain, over the last few years, is estimated that by 2010 we will be spending more than £5.5 billion on wine sales (source Vinexpo), that’s more than Italy, Germany and France making us the biggest wine spenders in Europe.

With that wine fact in hand we’ll be wanting a good place to show off our lastest ‘cheeky red’ or ‘sparkling white’ and you’ll find no better wine display furniture than an Oak Wine Rack. This is not just a piece of furniture it is an investment that will age perfectly along with your fine wine.
