Modern Contemporary Kitchens
When we decide to move in to our dream home, we all too often find at least one room that could look better, and not to sound sexist, most women would change the kitchen. I don’t think I have ever met a woman who was 100% happy with their kitchen after a new move (but that is just me).
Few traditional and modern homes don’t give us much space to accommodate a good size kitchen/dinner, so we automatically think about which wall could come out and which will stay in. Let’s be honest the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house – this is where we usually all meet up after work/school, all together deciding which meals to eat and at parties the best conversations normally take place within the kitchens – don’t ask me why but the kitchen is a social god send at a house party.
You could say that the kitchen is at the centre of your family life. Once you have decided what you are going to do with your kitchen there are some simple rules that have to be adhered to when looking at builders and designers for your new kitchen.
One thing is certain; don’t ask for a quotation first. That is jumping the gun. Always do some background checks on the contractors that you are hiring.
Ask questions about one or two projects they have done before – i.e. how easy was it to get the materials required for the job and how much time it takes to complete a project also ask to see samples (if possible, they might have photographs) of their previous work and reference numbers of contact.
Another thing to remember is once your kitchen is completed you will have to find the fixtures and lighting to give your kitchen that lovely inviting atmosphere or possible even add some bar stools when your thinking about accessories. But that’s a whole different blog post entirely.
