That Special Covering – Rugs
When decorating we can spend weeks even months contemplating which pieces will look best in our homes, then there’s the accessories such as tables, lamps, pictures and carpets. Well, in most modern homes we have opted for the laminate flooring or that real wood floor finish, these look great but some times we need that something special to set it off.
Rugs have been around for centuries and as the exact date of the origin of weaving of rugs is not known, it is estimated that weaving as we know it today evolved in Egypt and central Asia around second millennium B.C. Not much has changed in rug making in thousands of years it’s only our lack of imagination that holds us back. When choosing your rug there are several factors to take into consideration such as;
1. Would you want to place your furniture on your rug?
2. Would you want it simply as a decorative piece to show off your furniture?
3. Is it going to be walked on constantly i.e. placed next to a door?
4. Do you want a rug that covers your all your room leaving only a small area around the edge of your room?
