We all love to make our homes look great, how much are we prepared to spend on that piece of modern designer furniture? We have had a browse through the internet and found the most expensive pieces that may look great in any home (maybe?)

The worlds most expensive piece is this Badminton Cabinet, sold for £19 million, commissioned in 1726 by Hendry Somerset, it cost him originally £500 and 94 pounds in export duties. It took 30 craft men 6 years to finish.

Now you have the cabinet now you need somewhere to sit. This chair once belonged to Yves Saint Laurent, expected to sell for £3 million, this leather chair sold £19.4 million at Christies this year.

Your office says a lot about you so what about this desk? Retailing at $200,000 , made from 6 different type of wood, and took 5 months to build.

The ‘Lockheed lounge’ was created by the Australian designer Marc Newson in 1986, it goes up for auction at Christies soon it is expected to reach £1million.

Don’t forget the kids now, this Banquete chair is up for sale at $75,000, designed in brazil by designers Fernando and Humberto Campana.

This Tufft Pier table was named after the creator Thomas Tufft. It was crafted in the 1700s and was sold recently for $4.6million.
