The Apprentice 2009

Earlier this week, BBC aired its new series of The Apprentice. Now, if your like me, you’ll have given this program a wide berth over the years (I’m more a Dragon’s Den kinda guy). However, this year, I have been challenged to give the show a chance to breath and I’m bound to be hooked come the end, we’ll see… After missing Wednesday’s night screening I watched the program again via the BBC’s iPlayer Online (www.bbc.co.uk/theapprentice/).

After Allan, sorry, Sir Allan Sugar, bollocked, bashed, and belittled the 15 apprentices (there should have been 16, but ones nerves got the better of himself and failed to turn-up for the start of the show) they are split into Boys vs The Girls and told to go and earn some money as a washing / cleaning company would.

The Boys, undermanned, somehow, made a better profit than the girls team and were carted off in a torrent of high-fives to the Studio Apartment, where they’ll be staying for the duration of their time on the show. It must be said that there were some stunning modern furniture on show, which we hope to focus more on, in the coming weeks.

So, that left the Girls to bicker amongst themselves and two individuals from eight to face Sir Allan and to be ungraciously ‘Fired’. Anita, the girl who was left holding the calculator and, so-called, in charge of the teams budget was the first to fall. And there it ended. So, I’m intrigued by The Apprentice, as I’m wanting to see which characters shall emerge the strongest in the coming weeks, nowhere near hooked, but let’s wait and see, eh?
